I did not learn this from a textbook.
I was the first person in my family to go to college. No roadmap, no one who had done it before me. So I did what you are supposed to do. I chased the credentials and I got them. A PhD in Social Work. Fifteen years researching why people get stuck.
On paper I had done everything right.
Then I worked with a coach myself, and she gave me two tools that changed things. The first was building out a future self. Actually sitting down and picturing what I wanted my life to look like. I am not sure I had ever given myself permission to do that.
The second was naming my limiting beliefs. The untrue things I believed about myself that were quietly holding me back.
