Frequently Asked Questions

Below are common questions parents ask before enrolling their teen in the LaunchForward 8-Week Program — with clear, honest answers to help you feel confident about taking the next step.

1. What exactly is LaunchForward Coaching?

LaunchForward Coaching is a structured, 8-week program that helps teens and young adults gain clarity, confidence, and direction for their next chapter — whether that’s college, a career path, or personal growth.

It’s not therapy or tutoring — it’s forward-focused coaching designed to help your teen understand who they are, what they want, and how to move toward it confidently. We focus on building self-awareness, motivation, and decision-making skills — all tools they’ll use for life.

2. Who is this program best suited for?

The program is ideal for curious, capable teens and young adults (ages 15 to 25) who feel uncertain about what’s next or overwhelmed by choices. High school students get a head start, college students refine their focus, and recent graduates make sure they’re on the right path before stepping fully into the workforce. LaunchForward Coaching also helps young people who are not college-bound. Not every student is heading to a four-year university — and that’s okay! LaunchForward Coaching helps young people map out their next step, whether that’s college, trade school, certification, entrepreneurship, or going straight into the workforce. We help build an individualized career path, not just follow a college default.

I work best with young people who are curious, committed, and coachable — willing to reflect, explore, and take small, consistent action. The program helps them connect the dots between their strengths, interests, and real-world possibilities, so they can move forward with confidence and focus.

3. Can someone as young as 15 really know what career path to pursue?

Absolutely! LaunchForward Coaching isn’t about choosing one “forever job,” but about discovering how they’re wired so they can take the first right step into a career path that fits.

4. How is this different from what school counselors or career assessments offer?

School counselors are wonderful resources, but they’re often stretched thin and focused on logistics like applications and deadlines. LaunchForward goes deeper. We use the Birkman Assessment, a world-class behavioral tool, combined with personalized coaching conversations to help your teen uncover why they think, act, and choose the way they do. It’s a guided, hands-on process that turns insight into action — not just another checklist or quiz.

5. What if my teen doesn’t really want to do this?

That’s completely normal — most teens don’t wake up asking for coaching! During the discovery call, I connect directly with your teen to make sure they feel seen, heard, and respected. The program only works if they’re open to the process, so I assess readiness before we begin. Once they understand it’s not about telling them what to do — but helping them figure it out for themselves — the buy-in happens naturally.

6. How much time does my teen need to commit each week?

The core commitment is one 60-minute session per week, plus brief reflection or action steps between sessions (about 2-3 hours). The structure is designed to fit busy schedules — and most families find the time investment saves far more stress and indecision later on.

7. What role do parents play in the program?

Parents are an important part of the process — but in a supportive, not directive way. We start and end the program with parent check-ins to align expectations, share progress, and discuss communication strategies. The work itself happens between me and your teen — giving them space to think independently, while you stay informed and confident about their growth.

8. How much does the program cost, and what does it include?

The 8-week program includes:
✅ Eight one-on-one coaching sessions via Zoom (60 minutes each)
✅ The Birkman Assessment and a personalized debrief session
✅ Guided exercises and reflection tools
✅ Two parent check-ins (beginning and end)
✅ Ongoing email support between sessions

Pricing reflects the high-touch, personalized nature of the program. All details are reviewed transparently during the discovery call, and flexible payment options are available.

9. What outcomes can we expect by the end of the program?

By the end of the 8 weeks, most students:
✅ Have a clear sense of who they are and what motivates them.
✅ Understand their strengths and how they show up under stress.
✅ Feel more confident making decisions about school, career, and life.
✅ Have a realistic action plan for what comes next.
✅ Communicate more openly with their parents about their goals.

Parents often tell us their teen seems lighter, more focused, and more self-assured — and that family conversations about the future feel easier and more hopeful.

10. What if we’re not sure this is the right time?

There’s no perfect time — but there is a right time: when your teen feels uncertain or unmotivated and could benefit from structure, encouragement, and guidance. The earlier they gain clarity, the more confident and intentional they can be about their next steps. That said, I always start with a free discovery call to make sure it’s the right fit — for both timing and readiness.

11. What happens after the program ends?

Yes! Many families choose to schedule periodic check-in sessions (monthly or quarterly) to maintain momentum. The 8-week program builds the foundation — ongoing coaching can help refine goals as your teen grows and new opportunities arise.
